The waters are anadromous and only inland fish are allowed.
Ice fishing season for permanent residents in Norway:
From January 1 to May 4.
Ice fishing season for foreigners:
From January 1 to March 14.
Permanent residents of Finnmark fish for free, while visitors must buy a fishing license.
Card prices are as for fishing summer season.
Separate fishing rules for ice fishing apply, and it is not permitted to fish closer than 200 meters to inlets and outlets.
The fishing license sale opens on 1 January.
Restrictions on fishing by foreigners.
Between March 15 and June 15, only people with a registered address in Norway can fish for inland fish in the Neverfjord lakes. This means that foreigners can ice fish in the Neverfjord lakes from January 1 to March 14, and summer fishing from June 16 to August 31.
Private individuals permanently residing outside Norway may be granted an exemption from the residency requirement.
